What To Expect

While we hope that you feel very welcome at Anderson Church, no one is going to single you out or ask you to stand up. Join us as we worship together.

Singing
Anderson Church enjoys a tradition of a capella singing, which simply means to sing without instrumental accompaniment. The lyrics to each song will be projected onto the screens, and music for most of the songs is in the songbook at each seat.

Communion
During this time, plates containing crackers are passed throughout the worship center.  The bread/cracker symbolizes the body of Jesus as He sacrificed Himself on the cross.  Participants will take a piece of bread, eat it and meditate on His broken body as they pass the tray to the next participant.  Next, trays filled with individual cups are passed.  The cups contain grape juice symbolizing the blood of Jesus.  Each participant drinks the contents of one cup and replaces the cup in the tray. The participant reflects on the forgiveness God offers us through the blood of Jesus as they pass the tray to the next participant.

Giving
We give out of gratitude for the generous blessings God has given us. Our guests are not required to give.

Time in the Word
A speaker talks about a portion of the Bible and challenges us to apply the scripture to our lives.

Altar Call

The Altar Call is a time for those wishing to recieve prayer, confess sin, or take on Jesus in baptism.  As the congregation sings a song or two you are free to pray silently, with anyone in attendance, or go to the front pews to pray with the speaker or minister that day.
